Slow down, look around, live gently
Temple University's upcoming Wellness Day is designed to give students a meaningful break from their regular academic schedule, offering a chance to step back and focus on personal well-being.

As the semester wears on and days begin to feel routine, a shift in pace can provide a sense of relief and renewed energy for the weeks ahead. The challenge, however, is knowing how to spend an unstructured day when there are no set expectations.
To find some answers, ideas were gathered from health and wellness professionals on what might benefit both individual and collective well-being. Their input suggests that the most valuable use of free time involves activities that carry personal meaning — which may itself call for a moment of reflection — and approaching those activities wholeheartedly.
Based on that input, five suggestions have been put together for making the most of Wellness Day.
In addition, the Health and Well-being Division's Wellness Day Your Way site provides further resources, tools and graphics covering topics such as self-compassion, mindfulness and more.
